HYDRAULIC HVI ZF 46
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 represents a specialized, top-tier hydraulic oil without zinc additives, boasting an exceptionally high viscosity index. This meticulously engineered formulation is tailored to tackle the extreme conditions typically associated with high-horsepower hydraulic systems, including wide temperature ranges, elevated pressures, intense power demands, and varying fluid flow rates.
This hydraulic oil stands out by offering unparalleled longevity and dependable performance, a result of a precise blend of anti-wear, detergent, and exceptionally shear-stable viscosity-enhancing additives. It has a proven track record in inhibiting rust, oxidation, corrosion, and foam formation. Furthermore, Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 guarantees superb filterability, along with hydrolytic and demulsibility stability.
However, it’s important to note that Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 isn’t the recommended choice for use as a lubricant in compressors, circulating systems, bearings, general-purpose lubrication, or enclosed gears that don’t require extreme high-pressure performance. For such applications, we recommend utilizing Vesta Compressor Oils instead.
BENEFITS
The anti-wear additives within Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 provide essential protection in environments where high pressures, power densities, and temperatures are inherent, particularly in high-horsepower hydraulic pumps operating at pressures reaching up to 28,000 kPa (4000 psi). This specialized fluid empowers hydraulic systems to deliver extended and trouble-free service even when confronted with increased horsepower demands, elevated temperatures, reduced oil reservoir volumes, and subsequently reduced de-aeration times.
One of the standout features of Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 is its exceptional filterability, even in the presence of moisture contamination. In contrast, other lubricants may lead to the formation of deposition products that clog filter systems, a consequence of hydrolytic instability, especially in non-ferrous hydraulic components. This can ultimately result in pump starvation, premature wear, cavitation, and equipment failure.
Unlike more conventional fluids, Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 is a multi-grade oil with minimal viscosity changes in response to temperature fluctuations. This property proves especially beneficial in high-horsepower hydraulic systems operating at extremely high temperatures. It ensures the formation of robust, wear-reducing lubricating films compared to the thinning of fluids seen in more typical hydraulic fluids. This unique viscosity control property is maintained by the highly shear-stable viscosity improver (VI) integrated into Hydraulic HVI ZF 46, in contrast to other lesser VIs that would shear down to less wear-protective, thinned-out fluids, thus potentially shortening the lifespan of hydraulic equipment.
The high aniline point of Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 guarantees excellent compatibility with synthetic rubbers, ultimately extending the lifespan of seals. Additionally, its potent anti-oxidation inhibitors reduce oxidation, thus inhibiting degradation and minimizing corrosion-related issues that can lead to hydraulic system deterioration, erratic control valve operation, filter blockages, downtime, and more.
Furthermore, Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 exhibits multi-metal compatibility, effectively controlling wear and corrosion in copper and aluminum alloys commonly used in high-performance pumps. The inclusion of corrosion inhibitors and metal passivators in these fluids, particularly under severe operating conditions, prevents corrosion of steels and the aforementioned more vulnerable metals.
Finally, the anti-foam additive present in Hydraulic HVI ZF 46 ensures that any entrained air rapidly separates from the fluid, preventing wear-inducing metal-to-metal contact.
