XHVI HYDRAULIC OILS 15 – 100

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

XHVI Hydraulic Oils represent a specialized class of top-tier hydraulic fluids meticulously designed to excel under the most demanding conditions, including extreme operating temperatures, high pressures, substantial power densities, and rapid fluid flow rates commonly encountered in high-horsepower hydraulic systems. These oils deliver exceptional and extended service life, thanks to a strategic blend of anti-wear, detergent, and remarkably shear-stable viscosity-enhancing additives, complemented by proven inhibitors that combat rust, oxidation, corrosion, and foam formation. Moreover, XHVI Hydraulic Oils guarantee outstanding filterability while maintaining hydrolytic and demulsibility stability.

BENEFITS

XHVI Hydraulic Oils incorporate specialized anti-wear additives that provide exceptional protection, particularly in environments characterized by inherently high pressures, power densities, and temperatures. These oils are designed to accommodate the rigorous demands of high-horsepower hydraulic pumps operating at pressures as high as 48,000 kPa (7000 psi). They enable hydraulic systems to deliver prolonged, trouble-free service even when subjected to increased horsepower, elevated temperatures, reduced oil reservoir volumes, and consequently shorter de-aeration times.

One key advantage of XHVI Hydraulic Oils is their outstanding filterability, even in the presence of moisture contamination. In contrast, many other lubricants may form deposition products due to hydrolytic instability, especially when non-ferrous hydraulic components are involved. These deposits can clog filter systems, leading to pump starvation, cavitation, and premature equipment wear and failure.

These multi-grade oils also exhibit more modest viscosity changes with temperature fluctuations compared to conventional fluids. This property is especially valuable in high-horsepower hydraulic systems operating at very high temperatures. It results in improved, full-bodied lubricant films that reduce wear, as opposed to the thinning effect experienced by conventional hydraulic fluids. This viscosity control is maintained by the exceptionally shear-stable viscosity improver (VI) integrated into XHVI Hydraulic Oils, unlike lesser VIs that shear down to less protective, thinned-out fluids, thereby shortening the equipment’s lifespan.

XHVI Hydraulic Oils boast a high aniline point, ensuring excellent compatibility with synthetic rubbers and extending the life of seals.

Furthermore, these oils feature potent oxidation inhibitors that effectively reduce oxidation, thereby inhibiting oil degradation and minimizing corrosion-related issues. This includes problems such as shortened hydraulic fluid life, erratic control valve operation, filter clogging, and downtime.

XHVI Hydraulic Oils also incorporate an anti-foam additive, which aids in quickly separating entrained air from the fluids. This prevents wear-inducing metal-to-metal contact.

With multi-metal compatibility, XHVI Hydraulic Oils are adept at controlling wear and corrosion of copper and aluminum alloys commonly used in high-performance pumps. Corrosion inhibitors and metal passivators within these oils further safeguard steels and other metals vulnerable to corrosion under severe operating conditions. However, it’s important to note that XHVI Hydraulic Oils contain a low zinc formula and are not recommended for use with silver components found in Lucas PM pumps. In such cases, the Vesta Zinc Free Hydraulic Oils are advised.

XHVI Hydraulic Oils are not normally recommended as a lubricant for compressors, circulating systems, bearings, general purpose lubrication and enclosed gears where extreme high-pressure, load characteristics are not required. For these applications, use Vesta Compressor Oils.
