In today’s environmentally conscious automotive market, where reducing emissions and enhancing fuel efficiency are paramount for better air quality, automakers have responded by developing smaller, turbocharged, high-output direct injection engines to meet stringent fuel economy and emission standards. While these smaller engines reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel efficiency, they also introduce specific challenges for lubricants:

• Increased Heat: These engines generate elevated temperatures, which accelerate the rate of oil oxidation, nitration, and deposit formation within the engine oil.
